Raymond Cain, Jr.

Raymond L. Cain, Jr., 65 of Anderson passed away on September 23, 2018 at Countryside Manor Health & Living in Anderson following an extended illness.  He was born on September 29, 1952 at St. John’s Hospital in Anderson to Raymond, Sr. and Agnes (Kelly) Cain.

Ray graduated from Wes-Del High School (1970) and served in the United Sates Air Force from 1971-1975 where he was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base.  Ray earned an Associate’s Degree from Indiana Business College and worked for Kroger for many years.  He was a member of United Food & Commercial Workers – Local 700.

Ray will be lovingly remembered as a hard worker who enjoyed spending quality time with his young son.  He was a voracious reader, a photography hobbyist and a computer enthusiast who enjoyed spending quiet time at home when he was not working.

Ray is survived by his parents; his son, Raymond Cain III of Houston, TX; one brother, Randy (Warrenetta) Cain of Lanette, AL; two sisters, Diana (Steve) Glass of Gaston and Danita (Gary) Brick of Jasper.  Many loving nieces and nephews also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society’s research efforts.

    It was such a pleasure to meet you and I hope you are resting well in heaven. Your smile will be missed. If there is a service scheduled I would love to attend.
