Roberta (Bobbie) Marie (Paradise) Bendinger Gottschalk (age 93) passed away on April 24, 2023 in Franklin, Indiana. Bobbie was born in Sioux City, Iowa on January 2, 1930 to Joseph David Paradise and Olga Marie (Fisher) Paradise.
Bobbie married Raymond L. Bendinger, DPM on June 24, 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa. The couple moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in the early 1960s. A longtime member of Southport Presbyterian Church, Bobbie was a Bible Study Fellowship Discussion Leader for 15 years in the 1970s and 1980s, and served on the Brown County Women’s Retreat Board for several years in the mid-1970s.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Harry Doolittle, her husband Ray, her daughter Sandy Cooper Remetta, and her brother Roy E. Paradise. Bobbie willed her body to science with the Indiana University Anatomical Education Program, as did her husband Ray when he passed away in February of 2011. She was also preceded in death by Truman Gottschalk in June of 2013.
Bobbie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her children Pastor Bruce (Pat) Bendinger, their children and grandchildren; Sandy’s children and her husband John Remetta along with his children and grandchildren; and Patti Kay (John) Warthen. Bobbie is also survived by her brother’s wife, Elaine, and the Paradise family.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at Greenwood Village South in the Meeting Room, Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 3:30 p.m., located at 295 Village Lane, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
