Catherine Marie (Ireland) Hunt, 70, a long time resident of Muncie, passed away at The Woodlands in Muncie on May 20, 2021 following an extended illness. She was born in Corydon, IN on March 20, 1951 to Robert and Mary Catherine (Rowe) Ireland, who preceded her in death.
Catherine is a graduate of Muncie Central High School (1970). After graduation, she worked for Aquarius House in Muncie as an administrative assistant. She went on to obtain a certification as a Surgical Technician and worked at Ball Memorial Hospital and St. Vincent Randolph Hospital.
Catherine was very talented and enjoyed doing crafts. She loved to spend time arranging flowers, crocheting and cooking. Her greatest love, though, was for her grandchildren whom she loved fiercely. She enjoyed taking them on weekend getaways and being involved in their lives.
Catherine is survived by two daughters, Amy (Donald) Rothenberger of New Castle and Shelley (Tim) Isler of Eaton; one sister, Karen (Dewayne) Hammons of Muncie; two brothers, Bob (Carolyn) Ireland of Muncie and Steve (Rebekah) Ireland of Selma; and four grandchildren, Daniel Rothenberger, Rachel Rothenberger, Brandon Isler and Isaac Isler. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive.
Private family services will be conducted. Catherine will be interred at Gardens of Memory in Muncie.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Silver Birch of Muncie, The Woodlands and Chaplain Marilyn for their loving, professional care.
