Cathy Teresa (Maze) Sedam, age 59, loving wife to Robert (Bob) and devoted mother to Tyler, went to be with her Lord and Savior, October 4th, 2020, surrounded by family and friends following a life-long courageous battle with Bronchiectasis.

Cathy was born November 3rd, 1960 to Gladys and Chester Maze.  She was a graduate of Southport High School.  Cathy loved her family, her friends, Pepsi, the Indianapolis 500, the Indiana Pacers, the Green Bay Packers, fishing and Kohl’s – especially when she had a 30 percent off coupon!  She was known for spontaneous road trips, hosting special events and parties and her amazing ability to organize and store memorabilia, including every single card she ever received.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; her son, Tyler; her brother, Richard (Buck); her sisters, Carol and Delcia; her niece, Pam and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Cathy is also survived by her special sisters MeLita, Cheryl and Susie (who are amazing blessings to the family) who orchestrated her care; her beloved goddaughter, Lexi and countless others who knew her as “Aunt Cathy” or “Cathy with a C”.

She reunited in heaven with her parents, Chester and Gladys (Cox) Maze; her sister, Kay; her nephew, Toby; and her parents-in-law, Bob and Mildred Sedam, who loved Cathy as their own daughter.

Cathy retired from Navient Solutions after 20 years of service.  She was known as a hard worker wherever she worked, including American Family Insurance and West Bend Mutual Insurance Company, where she was greeted as “Shazam” by the company President years after she had left there and moved back to Indiana.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the Pendleton Christian Church (1170 S. Pendleton Avenue, Pendleton, IN 46064) with Discipleship Pastor Joey Colson officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Pendleton Christian Church.

As was her usual tendency towards caring for others, Cathy’s express wish was that memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, be directed to Pendleton Christian Church.

Cathy will be forever remembered for the impact she made on the lives of everyone who knew her — love genuinely radiated from her soul.  As you think of Cathy, please never forget that she would want you to… 😁  “Have a smiley day!”  😁
