Charlene R. Moutray, 32, of Indianapolis passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2022. She was born in South Bend, IN on January 2, 1990 to Ronald Moutray and Ruth (Earnest) Parks.
Charlene was baptized in the Clinton Frame Church in Goshen, IN and was a proud graduate of Wheeler Mission’s Higher Ground Addiction Recovery Program for Women. She served in the Wheeler Mission Donation Center and Thrift Store and most recently worked for a private residential cleaning service.
Charlene will be remembered as a loyal friend who had a huge presence (and the biggest laugh you’ve ever heard!) She was an artistic, articulate woman who had a talent for writing. She was interested in cosmetology and loved to do her daughter, Lilly’s, hair and nails. Charlene enjoyed tending to her plants, cooking her signature steak and, above all, spending quality time with Lilly.
Charlene is survived by her parents, Ronald (Laura) Moutray of South Bend and Ruth (Shawn) Parks of Indianapolis; her step-father, Brad Goertzen of Goshen, IN; one daughter, Lilly Manges of Indianapolis; one sister, Heather (Wilson Newell) Goertzen of Goshen; her maternal grandparents, Robert Earnest and Sandy Earnest of Fishers; her paternal grandmother, Marilyn Moutray of South Bend; her step-grandfather, Irvin Goertzen of Goessel, KS. Many loving aunts, uncles and cousins also survive who were very special to Charlene.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Donald Moutray and her step-grandmother, Elaine Goertzen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wheeler Mission
A celebration of Charlene’s life will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Clinton Frame Church (63846 CR 35, Goshen, IN 46528).
