Christina Louise Puckett, 88, of Yorktown, passed away June 7th, 2021 at home after having a last evening with her family. She was born May 23, 1933 in Muncie, Indiana to the late George Edward Mitchell and Virginia Lee (Tucker) Mitchell.
Christina was a very caring person who loved her family and was a second mother to several children and adolescents over the years. She enjoyed sewing, reading, decorating, gardening, crafting, cooking, watching sports, family dinners, and getting together with her friends and classmates from Yorktown High School.
Christina graduated from Yorktown High School in 1951 and married Richard Puckett in 1953. She had been employed as an operator for Bell Telephone Co., held multiple positions in the Yorktown Schools, and served on the school board for Yorktown Schools.
Christina is survived by her husband Richard Lewis Puckett; a son and dedicated caregiver Steve Puckett of Yorktown, a daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Dennis Conwell of Yorktown, grandchildren Cari Conwell (Jeffrey Swift) of Daleville and Dennis Conwell (Misty) of Muncie, and great-grandchildren Brandon and Karli Conwell of Muncie and Isaiah, Blake, Teagan, and Duncan Swift of New Castle.
Christina was preceded in death by her parents.
At her request, a celebration of life will be held on the family farm at a later date.
