Daniel George, Sr., 65, of Shelbyville went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on October 6, 1957 to Cecil and Adea (Nealy) George.
Danny worked as a diesel mechanic for nearly 25 years. Most recently, he worked for Ryder Logistics in Indianapolis.
Danny lived life on his own terms right up until the end. He will be forever remembered as a big-hearted motorcycle lover who leaves behind a legacy of caring for others. He enjoyed attending motorcycle events like Bikes on Meridian and going on vacation with his family.
Danny is survived by his fiance’, Donna Bridges; one son, Danny (Alicia) George; two step-children, Ronnie Means and Ashley (Alex) Hicks; three brothers, Cecil George, Jr., John George and Douglas George; two sisters, Terri Link and Donna Sayre; and nine grandchildren, Athena George, Danny Wyatt, Karina Hicks, McKenzie Hicks, Gabby Hicks, Mystic Means, Keighan Richards, McKaiden Richards, and Bentley Richards. He is also survived by two very special people in his life, Pat Tartar and Cathy Smith, as well as his fur-baby, Harley.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and a step-son, John “Jay” Richards.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Major Hospital and Our Hospice of South Central Indiana for their loving care.
