Danny D. Silvers, 77, of Muncie, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 following a courageous fight with an extended illness. He was born in Muncie, IN on September 23, 1944 to Linsey and Emelene (Hollars) Silvers who both preceded him in death.

Danny, a lifelong resident of Muncie, attended Muncie Central High School and graduated from Cowan High School in 1963. He retired from General Motors after 38 years of service working at the Chevrolet Muncie transmission plant and was a member of UAW Local 321.

Danny loved life and lived it to the fullest. In his early years he was quite the athlete and loved sports. He enjoyed riding motorcycles off road and participated in many enduro motorcycle events. He was an avid camper and liked spending time outdoors. He loved boating, especially Dale Hollow Lake fishing, skiing, and just being near the water. He enjoyed having fun with his family and was always up for a spontaneous car ride — you never knew where you’d end up or when you’d be home! Danny was a big sports fan and spent many weekends watching Nascar, football, and college basketball. He will always be remembered for his kind heart, big smile, and his natural ability to be friends with those he met.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Sandy (Wehrle) Silvers; two daughters Melissa Silvers-Kirby (husband Larry), and Stephanie Silvers-Goodman (husband Mark) both from Selma, one daughter Kelly SilverSmith, Walnut Creek, CA, and a son Tim Silvers, Grand Prairie, Texas. He also had two stepsons, Brian Wehrle and Alex (wife Katie) Fivecoats both from Muncie. He is survived by his brother Tom Silvers (wife Peggy) Broomfield, CO and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, in-laws, nephews, and nieces. Danny was preceded in death by his brother Jim Ed Silvers (wife Carol), and stepfather Alfred Hale.

Graveside services and a Celebration of Life are pending, and will be conducted at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
