Dean E. Sexton, 64, of Elwood passed away on June 14, 2016 at St. Vincent Heart Center following a brief illness. He was born on November 4, 1951 in Middlesboro, KY to Claude Sexton and Delores (Johnson) Eurick.
Dean, the owner of Sexton Environmental Systems for more than 30 years, has lived in the Noblesville area since he was a young boy. He is a graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School (1970) and was very active in his community. He is a long-time member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed trapshooting and hunting. For many years, he also taught Hamilton County children gun safety. He is a member of the Harley Owners Group and the American Air Conditioning Contractors of America.
Dean loved spending time in his workshop working on various projects. He spent many hours in the garage restoring his classic 1953 Chevrolet Truck. He was always happy to help friends and neighbors with their projects and enjoyed serving as a resource for them. He cherished spending time with his family, working in the garden and recently started making his own wine.
Dean is survived by his dear wife of nearly 45 years, Marcia (Landis) Sexton; one daughter, Brandi (John) Murphy of Whitestown; one son, Andrew Sexton of Lapel; and six grandchildren, Madeline, Abrianna and Amelia Murphy and Nathan, Ashley and Owen Sexton. Many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Charles Landis and his mother-in-law, Elsie Landis.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Bethel Lutheran Church (20650 Cumberland Road, Noblesville, IN) with Pastor Al Schoonover officiating. Friends may call from Noon until the time of the service. Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
My heart goes out to Marcia and family and I hope God provides some peace in this time of sorrow. I wish I could be there and I very deeply regret letting life get in the way and losing touch with both of them.
Our sincere condolences to you Marcia and family. Our prayers in this difficult time. Love, Rina & Angelo Piga and family.
