Genevieve Frances (Stevens) Waters, 78, of Anderson passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville.  She was born in Pensacola, Florida on August 8, 1942 the daughter of Jesse Sherman and Bessie Genevieve (Gray) Stevens.

Genevieve is a graduate of Pensacola (FL) High School and attended Pensacola Junior College.  She married William Leon Waters Jr., a US Air Force Veteran, and Computer Technician for Digital Equipment Corporation.  Genevieve worked for several years as a secretary for Digital Equipment Corporation where she utilized her expert shorthand skills.  She attended White River Christian Church in Noblesville, and was a member of O’Fallon, Missouri Church of Christ.

Genevieve was a founding member of the Escambia County Parking Enforcement Specialist Team (Pensacola, Florida), which is a volunteer organization focused on enforcing ADA parking violations.  She also volunteered for several years as a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts of America.  Genevieve was an accomplished tole painter and very dedicated hobbyist!  She loved spending time sewing, gardening, working crossword puzzles and bird watching.

Genevieve’s hometown is Pensacola, Florida and is survived by two sons, Tony (Angel) Waters presently in Anderson, Indiana and Chris Waters; one sister, Bettie (Rudi) Franke of Lincoln, CA; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  Many loving cousins, nieces and nephews also survive as does her beloved dog, Precious.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Leon Waters, Jr and her favorite K9 companion, Prince.

Details regarding Genevieve’s virtual memorial service will be announced on Facebook at a later date. Interment will take place at Pensacola Memorial Gardens in Pensacola, FL.
