Jeffery A. Donovan, 64, of Muncie, passed away in his home on February 10, 2022 following an extended illness. He was born on November 21, 1957 in Muncie to Billy Donovan and Mary Smith.

Jeff was a former member of the Laborers International Union of North America Local 1112 and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local #135 in Muncie. He was fortunate to hold a variety of jobs throughout his life. He worked as a truck driver for Four Girls Trucking in Farmland, worked in construction for various companies and was an auto mechanic. Jeff will lovingly be remembered by his friends and family as a “jack of all trades”.

Jeff loved to have a good time and enjoyed life to the fullest! His ornery sense of humor will definitely be missed! Jeff enjoyed being around people – he would spend hours sitting by a campfire with his friends. He loved children (especially his great-grandchildren) and was an avid NASCAR fan. Jeff liked to relax by watching wrestling and old western movies.

Jeff is survived by his loving companion of 17 years, Dawn Cooper; three sisters; Billie (Ron) Barton of Muncie, Mistie Thompson of Dover, OH, and Jennifer; two brothers, Mike (Melissa) Smith of Yorktown and Jack Sailers of Muncie; and three daughters, Carolyn “Jo-Jo” Heiler, Rene’ Miller and Shawn Serf. Several loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren (he called Ace his “little buddy”), nieces and nephews also survive as do two of Jeff’s oldest friends, Tim Wise and Melvin Johnson.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; his brother, David Donovan; his sister, Gloria Donovan, his special uncle Dick Donovan; and Dawn’s mom, Arlenia Downham.

At Jeff’s request, no services will be conducted. A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the COPD Foundation.
