Kassandra Leann Rankin, 32, of Muncie passed away on April 19, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born in Muncie on April 13, 1989 to Ronald and Tammy (Cagle) Rankin.

Kassie is a graduate of Muncie Southside High School and obtained her certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant from Ivy Tech College.  She will always be fondly remembered as being the “life of the party”.  She loved to have fun and spend time with her friends.  Kassie was a talented artist who could draw just about anything.  Above all, though, she loved her children with all of her heart. 

Kassie is survived by her mother, Tammy (James Garrett) Dunn of Muncie; one son, Billy Whitemire, Jr. of Chesterfield; one daughter, LeAyla Hughes of Chesterfield; grandmother, Alice Criswell of Muncie; two brothers, Justin (Sarah Arnold) Rankin of Muncie and Bryce (Molly) Reeder of Ft. Wayne; one half-brother, “Rowdy” (Krystina) Rankin of Muncie; five uncles, Hutch Rankin of Michigan,  Jack Rankin of Muncie, Charles Nelson of Kokomo, David (Brenda) Nelson of Kokomo, Paul (Sara) Criswell of Parker City; and one aunt, April (Butch) Jones of Muncie.  She will also be missed by many cousins and very dear friends.

Kassie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul Criswell, Clyde Rankin and Ellene Rankin.
