Lori Lynn Steffen, 61, of New Whiteland, passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2020 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born (with curly red hair!) in Franklin on March 8, 1959 to Thomas and Norma (Clark) Steffen.
Lori is a graduate of Whiteland Community High School (1977). She is a life-long resident of Johnson County and worked as an Information Specialist for a local Geographic Information Systems company. For more than 11 years, Lori was also a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority (Alpha Gamma Chapter) in New Whiteland.
Lori enjoyed bicycling, listening to all genres of music, going to concerts and spending evenings with friends at the Historic Artcraft Theatre. She particularly liked to watch people dance and, as an adult, even participated in an ice skating recital! She will forever be remembered for being a phenomenal friend to both people and animals.
She is survived by nine loving cousins; two sisters-by-love, Gail (Mike) Day of Franklin and Deanna Powell of Whiteland (along with the entire Powell family); and her feline “boys”, Jordy and Max.
She is preceded in death by her mother; her father; her maternal grandparents; and her paternal grandparents.
A celebration of Lori‘s life, officiated by Tom Jackson, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 31, 2020 in the Arvin Meeting Room at the Franklin Parks Cultural Arts & Recreation Center (396 Branigin Boulevard, Franklin). Friends may gather from 1:00 PM until the time of the celebration.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Johnson County (3827 Graham Rd, Franklin, IN 46131).
