Michael L. Stiles, 69, of Yorktown passed away in his home on October 27, 2015 following an extended illness. He was born on October 2, 1946 in Indianapolis, IN to Trevor and Belva (Shipp) Stiles.
Mike served in the US Air Force and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Locally, he worked as a Tool & Die Maker for Delaware Machinery in Muncie as well as several other area machine shops. During Hurricane Katrina, he was a member of the security team at the Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi, MS.
Mike enjoyed golfing and playing pool, but he especially loved to fish and spend time with his family. Some of his most cherished memories were made with his brothers while on fishing trips in Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Connie (Siloski) Stiles; four daughters, Lori Grayson of Pennville, Christina (John) Moore of Indianapolis, Michelle (Rocklyn) Rose of Howell, MI, Mandi (Scott) Dalton of Yorktown; one son, David (Amber) Stevens of Yorktown; two brothers Doug, (Evelyn) Stiles of Ocean Springs, MS, Kent (Kandy) Stiles of Jesseville, AR and one sister Kimberly (Keith) Stratakos of Ocean Springs, MS. Thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive as do many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Terry, Kelly and Tiffany of Advantage Hospice for their support, love and care.
At Mike’s request, a cremation will take place and there will be no local services. He will be interred with military rites in the Biloxi National Cemetery at a later date
