Following a courageous battle with cancer Michelle Lynn Nead, 61, of Fishers, Indiana departed this life on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at her home surrounded by family. She leaves behind her loving husband of 39 years, Gary Nead; her devoted sons Michael and Matthew Nead; and her grandchildren, Zion, Rhett, and Rhys, whom she adored.
Michelle was born May 14, 1960, in Lebanon, Indiana to Orville and Dixie (Noel) Bose. From a young age, Michelle had a compassionate and nurturing spirit with a passion for serving others. She graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Recreational Therapy. During Michelle’s professional career she served others through various roles in Health and Human services, including nursing home aid, group home therapy, and most recently as a Service Coordinator for Central Indiana First Steps.
Michelle’s role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter was the most cherished and important part of her life. It was from these relationships that she drew her strength and left her most important legacy.
Michelle was a longtime and dedicated member of North Central Church of Christ. She served in the Sunday school and nursery ministries, made multiple mission trips through Breaking Chains Honduras, and provided handcrafted afghans to sick members of the church. Michelle also served as a founding Board Member of the Fishers YMCA and was devoted to their Mission.

To Michelle’s family, I’m sorry for your loss. Michelle was a faithful rider in my early morning cycling class at the Fishers YMCA for years. At 5:00am she was there with a smile on her face and a great attitude. We missed her when she had to stop coming due to her diagnosis.
I loved learning about her mission work in the obituary. What a wonderful person who leaves a lasting influence on many people. I pray that you will feel comfort through faith in our loving Savior who has received Michelle with joy.
Sincerely,
Sid Norton
I am so sorry for your loss! My heart breaks with y’all as I knew Michelle from the congregation in Goshen. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Michelle will be greatly missed. Love and hugs. Candy (Hill) Harvatin
To Gary and the family…
So sorry for your loss, but glad of all the fond memories I have and the many I heard at the celebration of her life.
I and my late wife (Diane) experienced her generous hospitality when we visited. We remember her as being sweet, gentle, generous and helpful person with a “living” Christian faith she was a loving daughter, wife, mother, friend and neighbor. She made the world a better place. She is probably asking God… “How can I help?”
In His grip,
Dave & (Diane) Waldrop
