Charles Michael (“Mike”) Phillips, 79, a lifelong resident of Anderson, passed away at his home on May 7, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born in Anderson, IN on September 29, 1944 to Raymond and Mary (Davis) Phillips.

Mike is a graduate of Anderson High School (1964) and proudly served our country in the US Army National Guard. He was active in many organizations including the Daleville American Legion, the Anderson Moose, the Anderson Eagles Lodge, the Veterans of Madison County, the American Motorcycle Association, and the Car Owners Racing Association. Mike was also a lifetime member of AMVETS.

Like his father and grandfather, Mike was incredibly mechanically inclined and loved to work on motorcycles! He held a certification from the Harley Davidson Mechanic School and it seemed there was nothing he couldn’t fix! Mike took over his family’s business, “Phillips Motors”, in 1969 and ran it until it closed in 1985. He then started a new venture, “The Price is Right”, which became a staple in Anderson for more than 30 years. More than anything, though, Mike loved to spend time with his family. He would absolutely light up on Sunday afternoons when his grandchildren would stop by to enjoy lunch and ride motorcycles on his property. The memories that he made with his family will never fade.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Diana (Ray) Phillips; two sons, Cory (Helena) Phillips of Indianapolis and Derick (Karen) Phillips of Anderson; one sister, Ralena Jones of Anderson; one brother, Joe Pat Phillips of Anderson; two grandchildren, Kyle (Haylee) Phillips of Fortville and Kynzie (Parrish Castillo) Stults of Daleville; and six great grandchildren (with one more on the way!), Isaac Phillips, Bethany Phillips, Franklin Phillips, Jazlyn Stults, Zayden Stults, and Kenyen Castillo. He will also be missed by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, amazing friends, and his faithful dog, Trump.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ralph Phillips.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery (6805 Doctor M.L.K., Jr. Blvd, Anderson, IN 46013) with Rev. Joe Childs officiating.

The family would like to thank Dr. Preetham Jetty and his staff for their quality, compassionate care.
