Paul E. (“Ed”) Stader, 71, of Indianapolis passed away on February 23, 2020 at Community Hospital South following an extended illness.  He was born in Indianapolis on December 14, 1948 to Paul and Eddie Katherine (Wand) Stader.

Ed was a graduate of Harry E. Wood High School in Indianapolis and served his country in the US Army.  He retired from Aramark Indianapolis where he spent many years servicing machines of all kinds.  Ed was a proud member of the Speedway Moose Lodge #500, the American Legion Victory Post 70 in Shelbyville and New Horizon Bass Anglers.

Ed was a talented mechanic who could fix almost anything.  He loved to work on classic cars — particularly Monte Carlos — and was particularly fond of a 1957 Chevy that he once owned.  Ed was also a lifelong fisherman and was a fierce competitor in countless bass fishing tournaments.

Ed is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Stader of Indianapolis; one son, Eric (Amanda) Stader of Brownsburg; four grandchildren, Avery Stader, Hayden Rapp, Scarlet Stader and Dallas Stader; and one great-grandchild, Aavah Caldwell.  Many loving nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Melvin Stader and Thomas Bowling.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday March 1, 2020 at The Speedway Moose Lodge #500 , 4917 W. Vermont St, Indianapolis, IN 46224, at 3pm with visitation until 4pm.  A presentation will begin at 4pm, allowing loved ones to honor his memory until 6pm.  Light refreshments and sandwiches will be provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Stader family.
