Randy J. Cleary, 68, of Anderson, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, March 9, 2024. He was born in Indianapolis on June 22, 1955 to Eugene and Beatris (Monday) Cleary.

Randy is a graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School (1973). He was a concrete mason by trade and worked at Cardinal Construction and Rescom for most of his career.

He enjoyed watching television – old westerns and boxing matches were among his favorites! He never turned down an opportunity to play a friendly game of poker with his friends and family. One of his favorite movies was “Darby O’Gill and the Little People” because he had fond memories of watching it with his daughter when she was young. He was a plant enthusiast. He will be forever remembered for the love he had for his family.

Randy is survived by his mother, Beatris; two daughters, Jennifer Cleary-Churchill of Indianapolis and Jasmine (Jason) Hamilton of Anderson; four sons, Jeremiah Cleary of Anderson, Matthew Cleary of Indianapolis, Richard (Ashley) Cleary of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jimmy (Amanda) Lynn of Anderson; two brothers, Lonnie (Connie) Cleary and Gene Cleary both of Tompkinsville, KY; and one sister, Sandra (Dan) Swartz of Rushville. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, Reed (Kaitlyn) Churchill, Shaye (Eli) Swan, Hannah (Bryce) Cleary, Abby (Corrinne) Cleary, Katie (Ray) Circharo, Joslyn (Zach) Zaichek, Brianna Doan, Mya Doan, Tyler Jordan, Kiliegh (Hayden) Stanley, Kyler (Morgan) Lynn, Kynzee (Austin) Humphrey; Ashley Hamilton, Gaige Hamilton, Richard Cleary, Jr., Madison Cleary, Emma Cleary and Aiden Butler; seven great-grandchildren, Bryson, Bransyn, Rhett, Blayklee, Rome, Maddix and Beckham; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene; his wife, Rosalind Lynn; his sister Diana Cleary-Fisbeck and one daughter, Jessica Slayton.

A celebration of Randy’s life will be held on April 6, 2024 from 2pm-6pm at Lapel’s Lions Club (329 Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051).
