Raymond “Art” Arthur McVey passed October 21, 2017, after a lengthy battle with dementia.  He was born in Noblesville, IN on July 12, 1943.  His parents were William and Norma McVey.

Art lived most of his life in Anderson, IN.  After graduating from Anderson High School in 1962, he entered the Air Force where he served for six years.  In 1963 Arthur and E. Jane McVey married at Central Christian Church.  After serving his country, Art and Jane returned to Anderson where he worked at Nicholson File and St. John’s Hospital before beginning his time working in skilled trades at Guide Lamp.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years E. Jane McVey; his sons, Brian, Darren, and James.  He had six grandchildren (MaKayla Brown, Chesterfield; Brandin McVey, Noblesville; Caleb and Riley McVey, Pendleton; Benjamin and Bridget McVey, California), three great-grandchildren (Jozzlynn Brown, Zayden Stanner, MaKenzi McVey).

He is also survived by his two sisters, Joan Miller, Millie McVey; nieces Dena Willis, Pam Painter, Penny Wilhoite, Darla Carlisle, Amy Goodrich, and Barbra Hall and his nephew Jeff Ash.

He was preceded in death by his parents William McVey and Norma McVey Browning; his in-laws Homer and Mildred Mathews; sister-in-law Phyllis Jean Miller, and brother-in-law Melvin Miller.

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church (1215 Jackson Street, Anderson) with the Rev. Don Deena Johnson officiating.  Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
