Terry E. Johnson, 63, of Indianapolis (formerly of Coral Springs, FL) passed away unexpectedly on July 27, 2017. He was born on May 26, 1954 in Lafayette to Melvin and Alice (Black) Johnson.
Terry graduated from LaPorte High School (1972) and earned his Undergraduate and Masters Degrees at Ball State University. He was self-employed and worked in the finance industry.
He was a member of the Church by the Glades in Coral Springs, FL.
Terry’s joy of music will be missed. You could often find him singing and playing his guitar… you knew by the sound of his whistling that he was close by. He also loved nature and spending time in the water – whether swimming the butterfly, lifeguarding, or just relaxing by a campfire on the ocean’s shore. Terry enjoyed the companionship of cats and dogs and was also an avid fan of the Chicago White Socks.
Terry is survived by his mother; one daughter, Kayla Johnson of Coral Springs, Fl; two sisters, Cynthia (Brian) Swanson of LaPorte and Kathy (Marty) Geiger of Indianapolis; one brother, Keith (Judy) Johnson of LaPorte; one niece, Sheila Corbett of LaPorte and one nephew, Byron Corbett of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Bruce Johnson.
A private family memorial service will be conducted after cremation.
So sorry to hear about Terry. We grew up together in church and graduated high school together. Many memories of Terry, albeit decades old. May God’s promises bring you comfort and assurance that you will see Terry again, and that he is rejoicing with the heavenly angels.
