Bruce Martin Brink of Greenwood, Indiana passed away on June 17, 2026. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Bruce was born in Rapid City, South Dakota on January 6, 1967 to Ronald Martin Brink and Bonnie Jean Brink (Morgan) at the Ellsworth Air Force Base. They returned to central Indiana shortly after.
Bruce grew up in Franklin and graduated from Franklin Community High School in 1985 where he was an active participant in marching band and track. He was also a dedicated 4-Her and Junior Leader mostly with the Franklin Livewires Club.
Bruce enlisted in the US Army after high school and was also enrolled at Indiana State University. He later completed his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at IUPUI Kelley School of Business in 2001.
Bruce was a dedicated Certified Public Accountant and was a lifelong learner of new skills. Despite the pride he took in his career, his favorite job title was always Dad. He always wanted to provide his children with the best. He was endlessly proud to be their dad.
Bruce, as a true jack of all trades, was and did too many things to truly condense concisely. He was an avid home chef, armchair researcher of all things, expert DIY-er, traveler, animal lover, handyman, home brewer, science fiction movie fan, photographer, Parrothead, and genealogist, among many other things.
Most of all, Bruce was a sports fan. He loved college football and rooted for Alabama, although his true dedication was to IU Hoosier football. He loved all other Indiana sports and followed the Colts and Fever basketball too.
Bruce passed away shortly after his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer. He is preceded in death by a son, Brandon M Brink. Bruce is survived by his children, Sydney Brink (Zach Staggs) and Nicholas Brink of Greenwood, Indiana; Hannah Brink (Maya) of Denver, Colorado; and William Maxwell Brink (Abisaig) of Conroe, Texas. He is also survived by his parents; his sister Natalie Ver Steeg (Jerry); and a niece, Brooke. He is also survived by his two beloved cats, Archie and
Lucy, who he absolutely cherished.
In accordance with his wishes there are no services planned. Bruce wanted to instead be remembered fondly over a cold beer with your friends and family – and Go Hoo-Hoo-Hoosiers.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Indy Humane Society in memoriam of Bruce. Please also consider making a donation in his name to the HVAF (Helping Veterans and Families) of Indiana, Inc.
Beautiful tribute to a very kind and intelligent man. He certainly loved his children and was immensely proud of them. Rest easy Bruce.
Sorry to learn of his passing. He was always kind in school.
I have been thinking of Bruce a lot these past few years, since I lost touch with him on social media. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, and that he suffered, even briefly, with such a horrible disease. My prayers are with Ron, Bonnie, Natalie, and his children. Rest in peace, Bruce.
I’m so sorry for your loss of Bruce. We have been friends since 4-H and have kept in touch all of these years until the last few weeks. He was such a wonderful and sweet man. He will be missed. Rest in peace, Bruce.
I was also a fellow classmate of his. He was a kind and gentle soul. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and I am not surprised of how great of a father he was. RIP Bruce. Prayers to his family and friends.
I remember such a great guy, with a great sense of humor. Rest is Peace, friend. 🙏🏻💕
Bruce was my manager at work and I thrived under him. He had a way of making people want to follow. He wasn’t a perfect man but he did his best and you could tell and that’s all you can really ask for. Miss you Bruce.
I worked with Bruce at Intuit. He was a mentor, cohort, and friend. He was one of a kind, and will be missed.
I met Bruce through work in 2016. What began as a virtual connection quickly became one of the most meaningful friendships of my life.
Bruce was smart, funny, sarcastic, silly, kind, and genuinely one of the best people I have ever known. No matter what life brought—good days, hard days, celebrations, losses, and everything in between—he was always there. We supported each other through so many ups and downs, and I will always be grateful for his friendship, his loyalty, and his heart.
One of the things I admired most about Bruce was how deeply he loved. His children were the center of his world, and he spoke of them with endless pride and devotion. He absolutely adored his cats, who brought him comfort, companionship, and joy through difficult times.
Bruce and I never missed an opportunity to tell each other “I love you.” I am thankful beyond words that I was able to tell him again recently. I only wish there had been more time.
My heart is shattered by this loss, but I will carry his friendship with me always. The laughter, the conversations, the sarcasm, the kindness, and the unwavering support he gave so freely will never be forgotten.
I hope his children know how deeply he was loved by so many people whose lives were made better because he was in them.
I love you, my friend. Thank you for being part of my life.
After a long and hard day in the accounting trenches, I’d search for my friend and colleague Bruce Brink, to chat with and make sense of my day when nothing made sense. I used to call Bruce ‘The Batman’…I worked with him for years remotely and loved his radio voice (it wasn’t a surprise to me that he used it for a hotline and did volunteer work), his wise words, his ‘dad’ jokes…he was a warm person and fellow accounting manager. All of the folks on our team always found Bruce to just be so warm, friendly, a good human to his team and all those that reported to him.
He was a grounding spirit. Despite how he was feeling, he’d always take the time to make others feel better.
I can’t imagine how his family and other folks closer to him must be feeling. I know he must be carried in our hearts now but he will definitely be missed.
I was very saddened to hear of Bruce’s passing when my mom shared the news with me. While we hadn’t seen each in many years, I often thought about our fun times in band together. Praying for the family and friends whose lives I know are missing all that Bruce meant to them.
