Elaine Francine Pickens, 56, of Fishers passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 in her home following a long battle with ALS.
Elaine is survived by her husband of thirty years, Larry; her daughter, Bridget Pickens of Fishers; her father and step-mother, Philip and Peg Brummit of Indianapolis; and brother, Phil Brummit of Speedway. She was preceded in death by her mother Billy Jean (Alger) Brummit.
Elaine was born at Fort Belvoir, VA on April 6, 1962. She traveled the world with her Father who was in the military. Her favorite country was Germany where she lived twice. Her family moved back to Indianapolis 40 years ago. She received a bachelor’s degree from IUPUI and an MBA from Butler University. She worked for Ratheon as a Quality Engineer and a Proposal Lead.
Elaine was a long-time member of the Holy Family Episcopal Church in Fishers where she was a member of The Daughters of the King.
Elaine had a passion for dance! She and her husband, Larry, spent a great deal of their lives together as competitive ballroom dancers. Together, in 2001, they became American Rhythm Champions for their age category in a national amateur dance competition. Elaine shared her love of dance with her daughter and enjoyed nothing more than watching Bridget dance. When she wasn’t dancing or spending quality time with her family and many friends, Elaine enjoyed reading and relaxing quietly at home.
A memorial service will be held at 4:30 on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Holy Family Episcopal Church (11445 Fishers Pointe Blvd, Fishers, IN 46038) with Father Bruce Gray officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to:
