Jessica Monique (Logsdon) Rohde, 43, a lifelong resident of Peru, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 19, 2025, while doing something she absolutely loved—carrying a banner in the Peru Circus Festival Parade. Her final moments reflected the very essence of who she was: joyful, vibrant, and deeply devoted to her community.
Born on June 8, 1982, in Peru, Jessica was the daughter of Aaron and Jean Ann (Saucier) Logsdon. A proud graduate of Peru High School, Class of 2001, Jessica dedicated her life to serving others. Throughout the years, she worked at several local establishments including McDonald’s, Burger King, Wal-Mart, JJ’s Gas Station, Garden Gate Café, and Hope at Home. No matter the position, Jessica led with compassion, kindness, and a heart that always sought to uplift those around her.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found comfort and community at both Main Street United Methodist Church and Loree Brethren Church. Jessica was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #258 and was involved with the Peru Amateur Circus for more than 35 years, where she performed, clowned, and most recently, served as a rigger. Her love for the circus and the people associated with it ran deep—it truly was part of her heart and soul.
Jessica loved fiercely and without condition. Her family meant everything to her and she cared for them deeply. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—swimming, going to the casino, caring for animals, and collecting anything that had her beloved Tweety Bird on it. But above all, Jessica will be remembered for her radiant smile, the kind that could light up a room and make you feel like you had a friend.
She is survived by her loving parents, Aaron and Jean Ann Logsdon; her children, Abby Logsdon and Robert Rohde; her brother, Aaron Logsdon II (Susan Livings) of Peru; her maternal grandfather, Robert Wooley of Lapeer, Michigan; and her nephews, Aaron “Mikey” Logsdon of Peru and Zach Logsdon of Terre Haute. She also leaves behind many devoted aunts, uncles, extended family members, countless friends, and her former in-laws, Douglas and Barb Rohde of Logansport.
Jessica was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Houston Sr. and Lena Logsdon, and Mary Lou Logsdon; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Judy Saucier, and Brenda Wooley; and her former husband, Douglas Rohde.
A celebration of Jessica’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Main Street United Methodist Church (81 W. Main Street, Peru, IN 46970) with Reverend Dr. Samuel Odubena officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church beginning at Noon on Thursday.
Jessica will be interred at Ever Rest Memorial Park in Cass County at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jessica’s memory to the Peru Circus City Festival.

DJ and I knew her through circus and when she worked at Burger King. She was the sweetest person and always had a smile. I am glad she she was doing what she loved when she passed. Prayers for her friends and family. This is a huge loss for this community and especially for the circus she loved so much.
I’ve known Jessica and her family for a longtime and got really close to her and the children in nurturing class, we watch her grow into motherhood and Abby & Robert grow up before our eyes.
Robert was an infant and Abby a toddler and we loved and welcomed into our family and she always new we were there to listen and nurture them.
Jessica was a very kind hearted human and that’s we loved most about.
Jessica will be missed and always ❤️. RIH beautiful soul
I met Jess the day she came home from the hospital after birth. Such a beautiful and sweet baby just as she was an adult. Not matter where we seen each other we would have a long conversation the kind one never gets tired of. Her mom and dad loved her dearly as she did them. Robert and Abby were her world. I’m so glad Abby and my granddaughter are school friends. Love you Jess and will miss our talks. Watch over your babies from heaven and always remind them you are with them. See you again one day girl.
