William (Bill) H. Bridges, 89, of Indianapolis passed away on April 24, 2018 at ManorCare at Summer Trace in Carmel. He was born November 26, 1928 in Highland Park, IL to Harold and Myrtle (Gary) Bridges.

A graduate of the University of Iowa, Mr. Bridges was the first in his family to attend college. He went on to enjoy a very successful sales career and worked for American Tourister Luggage for many years. Mr. Bridges enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, but he was particularly fond of football. He was a loyal Iowa Hawkeyes fan and a proud Indianapolis Colts season ticket holder. He also loved to play golf (so much so, he lived on a golf course while in Florida) and is a past president of the Woodland Country Club.

Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by parents; his loving wife, Nan; and one brother, Ken.

He is survived by his son, Steven (Barbara) Bridges of Noblesville; two daughters, Laura Bridges of Dallas, TX and Jolene (Tom) Schmith of Carmel; and two step-daughters, Linda West of Panama City Beach, FL and Loran (Joe) Steinmetz of Indianapolis. Also surviving are seven loving grandchildren, Beth, Andrew, Christopher, Cayla, Gabriel, Renee and Jamie; and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of ManorCare at Summer Trace and Transitions Hospice for their kindness and compassion.

Father Tom Metzger will officiate a celebration of Mr. Bridge’s life at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 9900 E 191st Street in Noblesville, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association (1200 Hosford Street, Suite 101 Hudson, WI 54016).
